Portia de Rossi is an Australian-American actress, model, philanthropist, and businesswoman. She is the founder and current CEO of the art company General Public.

De Rossi and DeGeneres became engaged in 2008 after DeGeneres proposed. On August 16, 2008, they married in their Beverly Hills home in front of their mothers and 17 other guests. In 2007, TV Guide named her and Ellen DeGeneres one of the Power A-List couples.

De Rossi’s breakthrough role was as a young and naive maid in the Australian film Sirens in 1994. Soon after, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she appeared in many TV shows, including Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher, before obtaining a role in the film Scream 2.

Portia was voted 69th in Stuff Magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women, 31st in Femme Fatales’ Sexiest Women of 2003 list, and 24th in Maxim’s 100 Sexiest Women List in 2004; in late 2006, Blender named her one of the hottest women in film and television.
