Kenobi was executive produced by Ewan McGregor who also stars as the title character, reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy alongside Hayden Christensen, Joel Edgerton, and Bonnie Piesse.

James Earl Jones voiced Vader.

Vader’s next appearance, sans Jones’ voice, will be in the Disney+ prequel series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” premiering May 27 on the streamer.

Ewan McGregor is back as the titular Jedi Master, with Hayden Christensen portraying Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader once again.

The Kenobi project originated as a spin-off film to be written by Hossein Amini and directed by Stephen Daldry, but it was reworked as a limited series by Amini following the commercial failure of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) and the franchise’s subsequent pivot to television.

Filming began in May 2021 in Los Angeles using StageCraft video wall technology, and was wrapped up in September of same year.

Kenobi premiered on May 27, 2022, and will run for six episodes until June 22.
