Joe Garcia the husband of Irma Garcia, a teacher killed by the Uvalde school shooter, reportedly died on Thursday, May 26 after suffering a heart attack.

On Twitter, Ernie Zuniga of KAAB news in San Antonio, Texas, initially reported the death of Garcia’s husband, Joe.

Irma Garcia’s nephew, John Martinez, also tweeted about Joe Garcia’s death.
“EXTREMELY sad and came with profound sorrow to say that my Tia Irma’s husband Joe Garcia has gone away due to grief,” Martinez said on Twitter. “I genuinely am at a loss for words for how we are all feeling, PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR FAMILY, God have mercy on us, this isn’t easy.”
The news comes just two days after Irma Garcia, 18, was fatally shot at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on Thursday. Garcia was one of two teachers killed in the school shooting, along with 19 students.
