Raymond Allen Liotta (Ray Liotta) was an American actor and producer.

Liotta was best known for playing Shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams (1989), Henry Hill in Goodfellas (1990) and Tommy Vercetti in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002).

Liotta’s other roles included Ray Sinclair in Something Wild (1986), for which he received a Golden Globe nomination, as well as starring in;

  1. Unlawful Entry (1992),
  2. Cop Land (1997),
  3. Hannibal (2001),
  4. Blow (2001),
  5. John Q (2002),
  6. Identity (2003),
  7. Observe and Report (2009),
  8. Killing Them Softly (2012),
  9. The Place Beyond the Pines (2012),
  10. Marriage Story (2019), and
  11. Shades of Blue (2016–2018), a drama series.

On May 26, 2022 Liotta passed away aged 67 while in the Dominican Republic.

According to a source close to Liotta, he died in his sleep and at the time, he was shooting a movie called “Dangerous Waters” on the island.

As of now, there’s nothing suspicious about his death, and no foul play is suspected.

Liotta’s fiancée Jacy Nittolo was with him while he was working on the project.
