Ron Perelman is still alive. Ronald Perelman is an investor and banker who amassed a fortune through a diversified portfolio of interests ranging from sweets to cosmetics.

Perelman’s first major business transaction occurred in 1961, during his first year at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. He and his father paid $800,000 for the Esslinger Brewery, which they subsequently sold three years later for a $1 million profit.

He originally controlled the majority of AM General’s shares, but in 2020 he sold the majority of his AM General shares, as well as key works of art, due to the impact of the economy on the huge debt burdens several of his firms have from leveraged buyouts.
After the Covid-19 outbreak devastated his enterprises, Perelman sold assets worth billions of dollars to pay off the debt in late 2020.
He has long been a shareholder in the cosmetics company Revlon; his daughter Debra was named CEO in 2018. Perelman acquired the basics of business from his father. While in primary school, he accompanied him to board meetings. He is an avid art collector with thousands of pieces in his collection.
