Bernie Ecclestone Sell F1: How much did F1 sell for?

Bernie Ecclestone has been removed from his position running Formula 1 as US giant Liberty Media completed its $8 billion (£6.4 billion) takeover of the spot.

Ecclestone who has been in charge for nearly 40 years, has been appointed chairman emeritus and will act as an adviser to the board.

Having bought the team for $120,000 he eventually sold it for $5 million to a Swiss businessman.

From there, Bernie became increasingly involved in the Formula One Constructors Association (FOCA) and began to see the potential of all important television rights that would cement his place in Formula One for good.

Ecclestone and business partner, Flavio Briatore also owned the English Football club, Queens Park Rangers between 2007 and 2011.
