Texas School Shooting Gunman Picture

On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, United States, killing 19 children and 2 teachers. Earlier that day, he shot and wounded his grandmother.

Salvador also wounded about 15 children and a police officer before being killed. This was the 27th American school shooting in 2022, the deadliest since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, and the deadliest ever in Texas.

The shooter did not give reasons why he shot into the school before his demise, however, the tragedy has shocked the nation and ratcheted up the pressure on Congress and the President to take action, though Democrats can do little to pass stricter gun control measures in a 50-50 senate amid widespread Republican opposition.
