Salvador also wounded about 15 children and a police officer before being killed. This was the 27th American school shooting in 2022, the deadliest since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, and the deadliest ever in Texas.

The Gunman who fatally shot 19 children and two adults at a Texas elementary school was killed by law enforcement officers.
