Brian Moynihan is American but has Irish roots. He was born into a Catholic family in Marietta, Ohio, on October 19, 1959.

Brian grew up in Ohio amongst the seven of his siblings.

He bagged his undergraduate degree from Brown University and earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Notre Dame.

He later made his way back to Providence, Rhode Island to join Edwards & Angell LLP, which was the biggest corporate law firm at the time.

Brian had worked with different financial situations across all levels before January 2009 when he was made head of customer and private venture banking (SBB) at Bank of America.

For 5 successive years, Brian was executive VP, of Fleet’s business and wealth management arm.

After the merger in 2004, he turned President of global wealth and investment management of BOfA, and CEO of Merrill Lynch.

Brian became CEO of Bank of America following the resignation of Ken Lewis in 2010.

The Chief Executive Magazine awarded him CEO Of The Year in 2020.

Brian presently lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
