Michelle Williams Heath Ledger Death: Were Michelle and Heath together when he died?

Michelle and Heath Ledger were not together when he died of an accidental overdose of sleeping pills in January 2008.

After meeting on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2005, Williams and Ledger began dating. They welcomed Matilda in October of that year, but they split up in October of the following year.

Michelle and Matilda relocated out of their Brooklyn home to remote upstate New York shortly after the Dark Knight actor’s death due to overwhelming paparazzi attention.

Ledger had just finished filming his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight a few months before his death. The Dark Knight was in post-production at the time of his death, while The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, in which he was playing his final role as Tony, was filming.

For his work on The Dark Knight, Ledger received multiple posthumous honours, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actor International, and the 2008 Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor.
