The Colorado Avalanche defeated the St. Louis Blues 5-2 in Game 3 of their Round 2 series on Saturday, May 21 night to grab a 2-1 lead, but the drama didn’t stop there.

Controversial In the first period, Avalanche centre Nazem Kadri collided with Blues goalie Jordan Binnington, taking the Blues starter out of the game, and Binnington was furious.
During his postgame interview with TNT, Binnington reportedly threw a water bottle at Kadri in disgust after the game. “I think it was Binnington,” Kadri said after the Avalanche’s 5-2 win. “But I was sort of wrapped up so you’ll have to ask him.”

After the game, Blues head coach Craig Berube spoke to the media. Binnington is being assessed for a lower-body injury after winning the Stanley Cup with St. Louis in 2019. The status of the former All-Star is still unknown.
The Avalanche have already taken a 2–1 lead in their second-round series against the Blues. Game 4 will take place on Monday, May 23 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
