Defence Minister Peter Dutton has retained his Queensland seat of Dickson with almost 53% in the 2022 election on May 21 after fending off a challenge from Labor’s Ali France, and he might be the future Liberal leader.

Dutton addressed his supporters, paying respect to colleagues in danger of losing their seats, including Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, calling it an “awful day” for the Liberal Party.
Peter Craig Dutton is a politician from Australia. He is a Liberal Party member who has been Minister for Defence and Leader of the House in the Morrison Government since March 2021. He has been in the Cabinet since 2013 and in the House of Representatives since 2001, representing the Queensland seat of Dickson.
