Sonny’s estate was willed to his last wife, Mary Bono.

Sonny Bono married three women in his lifetime – Cher Bono, Kristy Bono and Mary Bono.

Sonny also had four children – a child with Cher, another child with Kristy and two other children with his last wife Mary.

Cher had fought for her rights, saying that she was entitled to a 50% share of rights in musical composition royalties, record royalties, and other assets owned by Bonny as at the time of their divorce.

Bono, died on January 5, 1998, in a skiing accident while on a holiday trip with his family in South Lake Tahoe, California.
