Annette Funicello relocated to Southern California when she was four years old. She started her professional career as a child performer at the age of twelve and was one of the most popular Mouseketeers in the original Mickey Mouse Club.

Annette Funicello became a singer as a teenager and had the pop singles “O Dio Mio”, “First Name Initial”, “Tall Paul” and “Pineapple Princess” to her name. She published her autobiography, A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes My Story in 1994.

Annette Funicello was inducted as a Disney Legend in 1992. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for motion pictures on September 14, 1993. She got diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987.
