Her husband, George Carlin rose to prominence as a stand-up comedian in the 1960s and ’70s and had reinvented himself multiple times over his career. He hosted the first episode of Saturday Night Live in 1975 and made frequent appearances on The Tonight Show.

George Carlin has made appearances in  Car Wash, Outrageous Fortune, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, The Prince of Tides, Dogma, Scary Movie 3, and Jersey Girl. He passed away on June 22, 2008, from cardiac failure in Santa Monica, California, United States.
