Why Has Chioma Ubogagu Been Banned?

Tottenham Hotspur’s Woman’s forward, Chioma Ubogagu has been banned for nine months by the Football Association for an anti-doping violation.

Chioma who joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2021, was twice charged for using canrenone, which is a banned substance by the association.

The substances amongst their functions can be used as a masking agents. It can also be used to increase the rate of weight loss.

The substance was detected after she provided a urine sample to the UK Anti-Doping on October 2021. However, Chioma said the substance was prescribed by a dermatologist in Texas as she sought a solution to help with acne.
