What are the duties of the PA Attorney General?
According to the Commonwealth Attorneys Act, the Attorney General’s primary responsibilities are as follows: To serve as the Commonwealth’s chief law enforcement officer, responsible for prosecuting organised crime and public corruption.
To represent the Commonwealth and all Commonwealth agencies, as well as the Auditor General, State Treasurer, and Public Utility Commission on their behalf, in any action taken by or against the Commonwealth or its Agencies. To carry out the provisions of consumer protection laws and to represent the Commonwealth and its inhabitants in any lawsuit arising from a violation of the United States antitrust laws.
