Incumbent Governor of the State of Georgia, Brian Kemp, hails from Athens in Georgia.

He was born into a wealthy and politically powereful family.

His father is William L. Kemp II, and grandfather, Julian H. Cox, were members of the Georgia Legislature.

Kemp went to Athens Academy right up to the 10th grade prior to making a it to Clarke Central High School to play football for Billy Henderson.

He then, at that point, continued to the University of Georgia, where he bagged his first degree in Agricultural studies.

Kemp is married to Marty Argo, the daughter of veteran House of Representatives member, Bob Argo and they have three daughters together.

Where Does Governor Kemp Live?

Kemp and his family live in the Georgia Governor’s Mansion, a 30-room, three-level, home designed according to the Greek Revival style of 1967.

The mansion stands on an 18 acres expanse of land, located Northeast Atlanta, Georgia.

Before emerging as governor, Kemp was a two-term secretary of state of Georgia and a member of the Georgia State Senate between 2003 until 2007.
