Katie was born on 16th July, 1993 to Trevor and Ruth McGlynn.
Katie’s mum was born in 1965 and her dad was born in 1967.
Katie is the younger sister of triplet brothers Daniel, Michael and Trevor born in 1988.
Katie is best known for her roles as Jodie “Scout” Allen in Waterloo Road (2011–2013), Sinead Tinker in Coronation Street (2013–2020), and Becky Quentin in Hollyoaks (2021–2022).
Katie was awarded the best serial drama performance for her heartbreaking scenes in Coronation Street as tragic Sinead at the National Television Awards 2020.

Katie was announced as the seventh star on Strictly Come Dancing 2021 line-up and speaking to the BBC ahead of the announcement, McGlynn said:
“It’s been so hard keeping it a secret, but I can finally say that I’m getting ready to shake my shimmy and become part of the Strictly family!”
Katie’s net worth is under review but it is estimated at $2 million.
Katie graduated from Wardle High School in Rochdale.
At the age of ten, Katie began drama school.
