Who Are Keir Starmer’s Parents Rod Starmer And Josephine Baker?

U.K Labour Party leader, Keir Starmer, was born in London to Josephine Baker, and Rodney Starmer.

Keir was named by parents after the labour party’s first parliamentary leader, Keir Hardie, because they were avid supporters of the labour party.

Keir’s mother, Josephine, was a nurse, and battled stills disease.

“She contracted a very rare disease early in her life which meant she was constantly in need of NHS care”, Keir had once said while speaking about her.

Rodney Starmer

Keir’s dad, Rodney, was a toolmaker who worked 14-hours daily at a factory.

Rodney spent most of his time caring for his wife, Josephine, because she was dealing with still’s disease.

Keir grew up in Surrey as the second of the four children.

Keir attended Reigate Grammar School, together with popular musician Norman Cook, renowned journalists Andrew Cooper,and Andrew Sullivan: according to Starmer.

He proceeded to pursue his undergraduate degree in law at the University of Leeds, bagging a first class in 1985.

Keir further bagged his postgraduate degree at St Edmund Hall.
