Ons Jabeur was born on August 28, 1994, in Ksar Hellal, Tunisia. She is the daughter of Samira and Ridha Jabeur. She was brought up in Sousse, alongside two older brothers, Hatem and Marwen, as well as an older sister, Yasmine.
Ons Jabeur started playing on the ITF Junior Circuit in August 2007 and began playing on the ITF Women’s Circuit in 2008 when she was only 14 years old. She started her tennis interests at three years old after her mother introduced her to the sport.
Ons Jabeur has been ranked as high as world No. 7 by the Women’s Tennis Association and is the current No. 1 Tunisian player. She is also the highest-ranked Arab tennis player in ATP and WTA rankings history.
