Pregnant Trans Man Calvin Klein Ad

On May 8, 2022, Calvin Klein released an advertisement depicting women from many walks of life. One transgender man and his wife were among them. Roberto and Erika are expecting parents from Brazil

The caption added, “Roberto is due to give birth to his and Erika’s son Noah any day now,”

“We can procreate biologically or from the heart… The ad quotes the pair as saying, “Our place is to love and be loved.”

While several people commended the fashion business for its inclusive messaging, a barrage of transphobic remarks rapidly drowned them out. Many of them threatened to boycott the company, referring to the commercial as a “woke campaign.” “Time to abandon you, Calvin Klein,” one person said.

Calvin Klein has already issued a statement defending its campaign and reaffirming the company’s commitment to fighting hate. The statement read, “We welcome our platform as an inclusive and respectful space for individualism and self-expression.”
