Although he was not a member of the Aryan Nations, he shared the group’s supremacist and anti-government views. At one of the meetings, he became friends with an informant of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, who purchased two illegal sawed-off shotguns from Weaver in October 1989.
When Weaver refused to become an informant for the AFT, federal agents pursued a weapon charge against him.
