Elizabeth Short got the name Black Dahila after her death because she reportedly wore more black dresses. Up until 2022, her death has still not been fully solved even though there have been a few people who have claimed to be the murderer.

According to reports, she was a man teaser who had been with at least 50 men before the time of her death. Many people believe that one of these men brutally murdered her as “revenge.” Other theories also stated that she had gotten involved with bad people which made her end up dead.

Other reports also claimed that due to the state of her body after she was murdered, she was forced to eat something terrible before her death. Some parts of her body; her thighs and the flesh under her breast were cut off and shoved under her stomach. The gruesomeness of her murder made it so difficult to comprehend.

Several decades after her murder, a letter came into the LAPD claiming to know the actual murderer, however, the letter had been cleaned with gasoline, wiping all fingerprints off. An LAPD officer also claimed that his deceased father could have possibly been the murderer after he found condemning files in his father’s locker after his death.

Elizabeth Short’s death is still unsolved after almost 80 years.
