Death is so unpleasant and painful and as a result, most people do not talk about it.

However, whether we prepare for it or not, when the time is due, we will definitely breath our last.

Again, one of the most painful things to experience is the death of one’s parents.

The death of parents often leaves their children with a void to fill and these children often tend to honor their dead parents by staging expensive funerals.

Such a practice is commonly known as “showing one’s last respects”.

However, not everyone appears to deem it “necessary” to spend lavishly on funerals as a means of honoring one’s parents after they die.

This begs the question; “What can I do to honor my parents after they die”.

Below are some of the things that one can do to honor his/her parents following their death;

  1. Dedicate an event to them.
  2. Make a donation to charity or other good causes.
  3. Start a tradition in memory of them.
  4. Leave them a seat/seats during family gatherings or other meetings where they’d have attended.
  5. Create a memorial website.
