We Own This City is a True Story of Crime, Cops and Corruption” based on the nonfiction book by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton.

This crime series chronicles the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force.

It also exposes the corruption and moral collapse that befalls an American city in which the policies of drug prohibition and mass arrest are championed at the expense of actual police work.

The miniseries was developed and written by George Pelecanos and David Simon, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green with production taking place in Baltimore.

Rotten Tomatoes reported a 92% approval rating with an average rating of 8.4/10, based on 38 critic reviews.
