It is now at its lowest point since Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president. This means that some states will receive less water in the 2022 water year. Lake Mead had reached only 35% of its capacity as of August 22, 2021.

The water level of Lake Mead is down to 1067.15 feet. According to a recently released 24-month forecast, Lake Mead will continue to fall far below the levels that triggered the August declaration of a water shortage.

The lake level typically rises during the winter and spring, but the Bureau of Reclamation predicts a smaller raise this year or most likely no rise at all.
