The accident that occurred was that of Jonathan Goodwins who suffered severe burns during a rehearsal for the show. He almost died twice during surgery.

Why was AGT extreme cut short?
The production of America’s Got Talent was paused indefinitely after the accident on set involving stuntman Jonathan Goodwin.
Jonathan reportedly was crushed between two cars in a daredevil stunt that went wrong causing an explosion on the set. He was airlifted to the hospital and was in the trauma unit.
It was announced that Jonathan Goodwin is now paralysed and requires the use of a wheelchair after he sustained various degrees of injuries.
