Glenn Close’s ex-husband, David Evans Shaw, David Evans Shaw, is an American businessman famous as the managing partner of the investment firm ‘Black Point Group.

The couple got married in 2006 but divorced in 2015.
Shaw was the founding Chairman and CEO of IDEXX Laboratories Inc; founding CEO and Executive Chair of Ikaria Pharma; and co-founder and chairman of Direct Vet Marketing.
His entrepreneurial endeavors also include contributing as an investor and director in several companies, including Sapphire Energy, Itaconix, and Physician. He was also a partner of venture capital firm Venrock Associates.

A short-form filmmaker, Shaw is associated with ‘Curiosity Stream’ as an Advisory Board member.
He also devotes time to public service, management consulting, and teaching, and frequently speaks on business leadership, entrepreneurship, and public service on various public forums. He participated in the senior executive program at the ‘Harvard Business School’ and served in the advisory board of the ‘Center for Public Leadership.’
He was inducted into the Life Sciences Hall of Fame, named the “2013 International SeaKeepers of the Year,” and awarded the honorary Doctor of Law degree by Colby College, Bates College, and The University of Southern Maine.
