Robbie Roper was hospitalised for complications that occurred during a shoulder surgery which led to his death on December 22 2021 Roper was placed on a life support machine after complications during surgery in Florida. He was 18 at the time of his death.

Robbie was the quarterback who created the highlights in Roswell High School’s final game against Grayson High School in the GHSA football quarterfinals. Roper was a standout high school quarterback who led a suburban Atlanta school to a state ranking in the top ten.
Roper had a promising football career ahead of him. As a senior, he passed for 3,010 yards and 37 touchdowns and received multiple college scholarship offers

“Robbie did everything in life with a contagious, positive, and energetic attitude that all who knew him will miss,” Prewett told AJC. “Robbie fought hard and fought until the bitter end, just like he did everything else.” “Robbie was a respected, well-liked student and a leader in our football programme,” Roswell Principal Robert Shaw tweeted.
