May 4th be with you, marks a celebration of all things Star Wars. As people may know, the day became Star Wars Day because of the turn of phrase, “May the force be with you”, used by Jedi masters in the movies.

The saying was also used in the United Kingdom, when on May 4th 1979, newspapers used the slogan to mark the day Britain’s prime minister, Margaret Thatcher assumed office.

The first recorded reference to the phrase being used was on May 4, 1979, the day after Margaret Thatcher was elected as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Her political party, the Conservatives, placed a congratulatory message in the London Evening News saying, “May Fourth Be With You, Maggie”.
