After fashion designer Gianni Versace was killed in 1997, his young niece, Allegra, was chosen to inherit Versace because Allegra was “the best-dressed girl in Milan” and as she grew older, she became absorbed in the Versaces’ love of style.

Versace had requitted his wealth to his 11-year-old niece, Allegra Beck, daughter of his sister and business partner, Donatella.

Young Allegra was also known for her honest, studious nature and ability to speak her mind.

At age 11, she was set to one day become the most powerful woman in the fashion industry.

According to insiders, Gianni’s death sent the young girl on a downward spiral.

In the mid-2000s she started to get thinner and battled anorexia. As for her future, one family source believes Allegra will never fully recover from the loss of her uncle.

“She’s stunted in childhood, will never develop. She is unlikely to ever function as an adult. This is the effect that Gianni’s murder had on her.”

Aged 34, and worth a reported over $US800 million, Allegra has remained intensely private and is rarely seen in public.
