DeAndre Rashaun Hopkins was born on June 6, 1992, in Central, South Carolina, the United States of America to his parents Sabrina Greenlee, and Harris Steve Hopkins. He lost his father, Harris Steve Hopkins in a car accident on I-85 when he was only five months old.

DeAndre Hopkins was raised by his single mother. His mother Sabrina had worked at an automotive factory. He was raised alongside three siblings, two sisters Shanterria and Kesha as well as one brother Marcus. His two older siblings, Kesha Smith and Marcus Greenlee are from a previous relationship.

DeAndre Hopkins was an athletic student at D. W. Daniel High School in Central, South Carolina. He played football, and basketball, and ran track and field. In his senior season, he was named the Independent Mail’s player of the year and was rated as the 12th best wide receiver in the nation as well as the State of South Carolina.

DeAndre Hopkins earned an All-State first-team from the state and The Charlotte Observer. He attended Clemson University, where he played for the Clemson Tigers football team from 2010 to 2012. The Houston Texans selected DeAndre Hopkins in the first round with the 27th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

DeAndre Hopkins became the second wide receiver in franchise history to be drafted in the first round. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and has also been named to five All-Pro teams.

Why did D hop get suspended?

DeAndre Hopkins got suspended by the NFL for the first six games of the  2022 season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
