The event attracts some of the most well-known and stylish A-listers, earning it the nickname “fashion’s biggest night out.” Getting an invite or not getting an invite can reveal a lot about a star’s status in the fashion world.

The only way to attend the Met Gala for free is to be chosen by a designer who has a table at the event and whose work will be featured. If you are chosen, you will be dressed by that designer in an outfit that they believe fits the theme and wearing their design is your ticket in.

According to The Evening Standard, the cost of a table at the Met Gala ranges from $200,000 to $300,000, implying that a designer will purchase at least one table for that amount and then fill it with celebrities and influencers they have dressed.

If you’re determined to get a seat at a table at any Met Gala event, be prepared to spend a lot of money. If you don’t have an invitation from a designer, you can expect to pay around $35,000 for a ticket and even then, getting a spot is extremely difficult if you weren’t on the original guest list.
