Bauer was enamoured with pitching since he was a child, and he would often practise alone outside of his private lessons.
After being accused of sexual assault, the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher was placed on administrative leave on July 2, 2021.

In February 2022, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office decided not to pursue criminal charges against the pitcher, but MLB suspended him for violating the MLB Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse Policy.
Bauer is appealing the two-year suspension, saying on Twitter, “I deny committing any violation of the league’s domestic violence and sexual assault policy in the strongest possible terms.” This action is being appealed, and I expect to win.”
My representatives and I have maintained the confidentiality of the proceedings throughout this process.
