Todd Boehly has said that should he win the bid to purchase Chelsea, supporters will be at the club’s heart and that he will mimic Liverpool’s use of statistics to improve Chelsea’s transfer dealings.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Todd Boehly has attempted to buy Chelsea as in 2019, it was reported that he made an attempt to buy the club for $3 billion, but the current owner, Russian billionaire tycoon, Roman Abramovich, rejected the takeover bid.
Todd Boehly’s bid to purchase Chelsea FC will not be his first involvement in sports as he owns 20% of the Los Angeles Dodgers and is also a part owner of the Los Angeles Sparks.
Todd Boehly is also an owner of fantasy sports company DraftKings and esports organization Cloud9.
Todd Boehly and Mark Walter acquired a 27% stake in the Los Angeles Lakers together from Philip Anschutz in July 2021 and as of February 2021, the Lakers were third-highest valued team in the NBA, with an estimated value of $5.14 billion.
