The main difference between sockeye salmon and Atlantic salmon is where they are found. Sockeye salmon live in the Pacific Ocean before migrating inland, whereas Atlantic salmon live in the Atlantic Ocean before migrating inland. However, Atlantic salmon are extremely rare in the wild.

Atlantic salmon have been nearly fished to extinction a few years ago, so they are now entirely farm-raised. The majority of the Atlantic salmon sold in our supermarkets and grocery stores is farmed in Chile and Canada.
