What is the difference between Atlantic salmon and Alaskan salmon?

The main difference between sockeye salmon and Atlantic salmon is where they are found. Sockeye salmon live in the Pacific Ocean before migrating inland, whereas Atlantic salmon live in the Atlantic Ocean before migrating inland. However, Atlantic salmon are extremely rare in the wild.

Atlantic salmon have been nearly fished to extinction a few years ago, so they are now entirely farm-raised. The majority of the Atlantic salmon sold in our supermarkets and grocery stores is farmed in Chile and Canada.

Sockeye salmon are always caught in the wild, and they can be found from Washington up to Alaska. Sockeye salmon have a bright red body with a green head and bright golden eyes, while Atlantic salmon have a tanned body with brown or red spots all over.
