Rob Cowan is the husband of Tracy Anne Oberman. They got married in December 2004. Rob is a British music broadcaster and writer. His first record review was published in 1967.

He edited CD Review for four years from 1985 and became a co-presenter with Jazz and classical music writer, Keith Shadwick on the Classic FM CD review programme. Just before Classic Fm began he was responsible for the early radio play of the best-selling recording (with soprano soloist Dawn Upshaw) of Henryk Gorecki’s Third Symphony.

Rob Cowan left BBC radio 3 to pursue other things. In a statement he said of his time on the radio has been good. He said, “I’ve had a good run but I’ve decided that after 17 years it’s time I focused on other things and have a lie-in more regularly in the mornings”.
