Stephen Maguire is a professional snooker player from Scotland. He’s won six major ranking tournaments, including the 2004 UK Championship, and has advanced to the finals of that event twice since then.

From 2005 to 2016, he was in the top 16 of the snooker world rankings for 11 years in a row, twice reaching world number two. He’s a prolific break builder, with over 450-century breaks to his credit, including three maximums.

In 1998, Maguire became a professional snooker player. He qualified for the 1999 UK Championship but was defeated 2–9 in the first round by Mark King.

He competed in the 2000 World Championship qualifying round, defeating Wayne Brown, Nick Walker, and Bradley Jones to advance to the final round, where he lost 9–10 to Joe Swail.

Maguire qualified for the 2002 UK Championship for the second time, defeating Fergal O’Brien 9–4 in the first round before falling to Ken Doherty 7–9 in the second round.
