Misha Collins is a well-spoken American actor, author, producer and director best recognized for his performance of the angel Castiel on the CW television series Supernatural.

Dmitri “Misha” Collins was born Dmitri Tippens Krushnic on August 20, 1974, in Boston, Massachusetts, the United States to parents Richard Krushnic and Rebecca Tippens. He is of partial Jewish descent.

Misha Collins went to Greenfield Center School, Northfield Mount Hermon School before heading to the University of Chicago, where he studied social theory. He did his internship for four months at the White House during the Clinton Administration in the Office of Presidential Personnel.

As an actor, Misha Collins has made appearances in the movies; Liberty Heights, Girl, Interrupted, Finding Home, Karla, Supernatural (2008-2020), Legacy, Charmed, NYPD Blue, 24, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, ER, Monk, Timeless, and Loot. 

Misha Collins is the co-founder and board president of Random Acts as well as the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen (GISHWHES). He published the poetry book, Some Things I Still Can’t Tell You, as well as a cookbook, The Adventurous Eaters Club, with his wife, Vicki Collins. He is the father of West Anaximander Collins and Maison Marie Collins.
