Twitter Inc. on Monday, April 25, 2022 accepted Elon Musk’s bid to take over the company.

The deal would give the world’s richest man control over the social-media network where he is also among its most influential users.
Elon Musk also intends to take Twitter private as part of the deal.

Elon Musk recently said that he believes that Twitter should be more open and transparent.
Elon Musk said during a TED2022 conference in Vancouver’
“I think it’s very important for there to be an inclusive arena for free speech.”
The billionaire, who is the world’s richest man according to Forbes magazine, has also hinted at his plans for Twitter.

Elon Musk had asked his 83.3 million followers on Twitter if the social media platform should allow people to edit their posts – and 74% of those who responded wanted an edit button.
Elon Musk also criticized Twitter’s process of verifying a Twitter account which he said was like “if Kafka had a Magic 8-Ball!”.
Elon Musk also recently tweeted:
“If our Twitter bid succeeds, we will defeat the spam bots or die trying”…..And authenticate all real humans.”
If the takeover goes through, it would mark one of the biggest acquisitions in tech history.
