Samuel Benchetrit is a French writer, actor, scenarist and director. Benchetrit was born into a family of Romani, Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. At age 15, he quit school to focus on photography.

Benchetrit fell in love with Vanessa Paradis, whom he directed, while filming his fifth film, Dog, in 2016. They tied the knot in June 2018.

Benchetrit was previously married to Marie Trintignant, a French actress who was murdered in 2003 by her lover Bertrand Cantat. Jules Benchetrit [fr], the couple’s first child, was born on April 17, 1998.

Benchetrit was married to French actress Anna Mouglalis from 2005 to 2012, and they have a daughter, Saül, who was born on March 7, 2007.
Vanessa Paradis is a French singer, model, and actress who rose to fame at the age of 14 when her single “Joe le taxi” became a worldwide hit.
Paradis began her singing career at the age of eight, when her uncle, record producer Didier Pain, helped her appear on the local television programme L’École des fans, a talent show for children singers, in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, near Paris.
Her most notable films as an actress are 1995’s Élisa, in which she co-starred with Gérard Depardieu, and 2010’s rom-com Heartbreaker.
