Ed has been a professional actor(/waiter), a not-so-temporary office temp, an adult literacy teacher, a corporate roleplayer, a short film producer, the owner of a private-room karaoke venue, and the general fort-holder at home for his growing family.

He has also written when he could – including short stories, short film scripts, the odd (in both senses) poem and two unpublished novels.

For the last few years he has been able to spend more time on writing and has increasingly directed his attention towards screenplays.

Ed’s first series, the 4 x 1-hr true crime series LANDSCAPERS, was developed with Sister Pictures and premiered on Sky Atlantic & HBO in December 2021. It has subsequently been nominated for Best Miniseries at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards.

In the late 1990s, while performing in a Footlights production of Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s Table Manners, Colman met Ed Sinclair, then a third-year law student who had become disillusioned with law and preferred to write.

Colman and Sinclair have been married for 20 years and they live in South London with their children.
