Lucy Muthoni Kibaki was the wife of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and was First Lady of Kenya from 2002 to 2013.

Lucy Kibaki passed away on April 26, 2016, at Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London, after a brief hospitalization at the Nairobi Hospital for chest pains. She was 80 at the time of her death.
Lucy Muthoni was born in the year 1936. Rev. John Kagai, a Presbyterian Church of East Africa pastor, and Rose Nyachomba raised her in Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County Kenya.

She attended Alliance Girls High School before becoming a teacher, first at Kamwenja Teachers College and then at Kambui College in Kiambu, where she rose to the position of principal.
In 1959, she met Mwai Kibaki. They married in 1961 after a two-year romance, and Lucy left her teaching job in 1963. Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagai, and Tony Githinji were their four children.
She was the grandmother of Mwai Kibaki Jr., Rachael Muthoni, and others. Kibaki was a supporter of the Kenya Wildlife Service.
