A fell pony is a versatile, working breed of mountain and moorland pony originating in the north of England and used as a riding and driving pony.
Fell Pony Colours
The Fell can be black, brown, bay and grey in colour. Chestnuts, piebalds and skewbalds are debarred. A star and/or a little white on or below the hind fetlock is acceptable. An excess of white markings is discouraged, but such ponies are eligible for registration.

Fell Pony Height
Fell Ponies vary a good deal in weight and size, so ponies may be found to carry almost any rider. The average height of the breed is 13.2 hands (54 inches, 137 cm), and the upper height limit for the breed is 14 hands (56 inches, 142 cm).

Fell Pony White
The colours accepted in the breed are black, brown, bay, grey, and chestnuts. Piebalds, and skewbalds are not allowed.

Fell Pony Queen
Queen Elizabeth II has posed with two of her ponies in a photo released to mark her 96th birthday on Thursday.
The image was commissioned by the Royal Windsor Horse Show and shows the monarch with her fell ponies, Bybeck Nightingale and Bybeck Katie.
