The great white shark is responsible for the most unprovoked attacks of any other shark in the world, according to the Florida Museum.

There have been 333 recorded white shark attacks in history; 52 of them were fatal.
Incidents of sharks biting humans are rare, but have risen “substantially” over the past 20 years, researchers from Macquarie University found in 2019.
They are the world’s largest predatory fish, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and are known to rip chunks out of their prey, which are swallowed whole.

“Great white sharks are often portrayed as ‘mindless killers’ and ‘fond of human flesh. ‘ However, this does not seem to be the case, we just look like their food,” Laura Ryan, a neurobiologist at Macquarie University in Australia and lead author of the study once said.
Can You Survive A Great White Shark Attack?
It is possible to survive a shark attack, as many have. After a shark attack, then it’s not safe, as there is likely a decent food source that attracted that shark, and probably more sharks, to the area. Which means the sharks are still there.
So, until the relevant authorities declare that it is safe, you do not get back in the water, even if you weren’t attacked.
