Sid Mark was an American radio disc jockey based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Mark was born on May 30, 1933, in Camden, New Jersey, United States.

He was best known for hosting a weekly syndicated radio program that ran from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m featuring the music of singer Frank Sinatra, including commentary, interviews and trivia facts.

Mark got into radio while serving in the U.S. Army in the 1950s.

He later worked for the Philadelphia radio station WHAT which later became WWDB.

Mark’s big break came in 1956 when he was asked to fill in for a DJ who didn’t show up. With two Frank Sinatra albums on hand, Mark played the songs of the legendary singer that would ultimately define his career.

Sid’s radio career spanned 65 years, the last 22 at Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, and 43 years of national syndication.

Mark hosted “Friday With Frank,” “Sunday With Sinatra” and “The Music Machine” on WWDB.

Sid Mark Death

Sid Mark died on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at age 88.

His death was announced by The Sounds of Sinatra with Sid Mark in a Facebook post.

However, the cause of death was not revealed.

“We lost our leader last night as Sid Mark has passed away”.

“He loved his family and of course Mr. S., and his dedicated audience”, they wrote.
