Who is Alex Cohen Mets?

Alexandra Cohen, also known as Alex Cohen, was born in Harlem and raised in Washington Heights, New York. She earned a degree in communications from Manhattan College in New York and went on to pursue a career in finance.

Alex is the president of the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation, a non-profit organisation she co-founded with her husband Steve in 2001. She is the driving force behind the Foundation, which supports Lyme and tickborne disease research, marginalised communities, children, the arts, and environmental sustainability.

She worked in the finance field until she married Steve in 1992, after studying communications at Manhattan College in New York. She’s been raising their family and focused on their charity initiatives ever then.

Alex is a member of the Chairman’s Council of the New York Restoration Project, the Dean’s Council of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and the Bob Woodruff Honorary Leadership Council. She was named one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in U.S. Philanthropy” by Inside Philanthropy.
