Is Zoe Ball leaving the BBC?

Zoe is not leaving the BBC. After departing her BBC Radio 2 breakfast programme early on April 4 Monday morning, Zoe Ball apologised to fans.

The 51-year-old host arrived 25 minutes late and left an hour later, leaving stand-in Richie Anderson to inform listeners that she was ‘not feeling well.’

‘Apologies for this morning gang, tyre went on the way into work,’ Zoe posted later in the day on Twitter. ”I rushed in because I didn’t want to miss the event and didn’t realise the impact it had on me. ‘I’m fine.’ Thank you for your thoughtful messages. Richie and Ken will be stepping in for me. See you tomorrow”.

Zoe Louise Ball is a radio and television personality from the United Kingdom. She was the first female host of the BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast and Radio 2 Breakfast Shows, and from 1996 to 1999, she co-hosted the children’s show Live & Kicking with Jamie Theakston.

Ball was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing’s third series. Following that, she took over as host of the BBC Two spin-off show Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from Claudia Winkleman in 2011 until her departure in 2021. In 2011 and 2015, Ball hosted the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour.

Zoe was named the next anchor of The Radio 2 Breakfast Show in 2018, succeeding Chris Evans in January 2019.
