Good Friday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum and it is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Great and Holy Friday, and Black Friday.
In many Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican and Methodist churches, the Service of the Great Three Hours’ Agony is held from noon until 3 pm, the time duration that the Bible records as darkness covering the land to Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross.

Good Friday is celebrated on April 15 and in some countries, April 15 is deemed a holiday, making citizens wonder the services which are unavailable due to the holiday.

Since Good Friday is not a Federal Holiday in the US, courts are open.
However, the following states observe Good Friday as a holiday and as a result, it is more likely that their courts will not be open;
